Samsung Galaxy S6 vs Galaxy S5
Now we would like to compare these two Samsung flagship devices. Although we haven’t reviewed the Galaxy S6 yet, we can analyze through all the specs to discover what’s different and to find which is better.
Both devices have the same size at 5 inches of display screen. The Galaxy S6 features a 5.1 inch of quad HD Super AMOLED display (2560×1440) at 577ppi, while the Galaxy S5 features a 5.1 inch Super AMOLED display (1920×1080) at 430ppi.
We consider the latest version display can produce deeper color and blacks, although the change to quad HD likely adds some battery strain. But the reality is both displays are good, even though the new display brings more pixels but it brings more battery drain.
The Galaxy S6 is powered by a quad 2.1 GHz Octacore processor and 3 GB of RAM, while the Galaxy S5 is powered by a 2.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor and 2 GB of RAM.
The Galaxy S6 may win the comparison because its RAM boost and 64-bit octa-core processor. But, we can see the reality later.
The Galaxy S6 provides 32GB, 64GB and 128GB versions of internal storage without microSD support, while the Galaxy S5 provides 16GB and 32GB versions of internal storage with expandable microSD support up to 128GB.
The Galaxy S6 has a 2550 mAh battery. It is irremovable, but it supports wireless charging. In the other hand, the Galaxy S5 has a standard 2800 mAh battery. The latest device has smaller battery capacity, which means it could be a battery-hungry.
The Galaxy S6 has FI.9 lenses and high resolution sensors on both 5MP of front-facing camera and 16MP of rear camera with OIS. While the Galaxy S5 features a 2MP of front-facing camera and 16MP of rear camera. Because of its FI.9 lenses, the Galaxy S6 could have better shots.
The Galaxy S6 runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop with TouchWiz interface. And the Galaxy S5 runs on Android 4.4 KitKat and TouchWiz, but recently it can be updated to Lollipop as well.
The Galaxy S6 has aluminum unibody design and glass on the front and back panels. Moreover the Galaxy S5 was designed with plastic body, like the past Galaxy flagships design.
Those are the comparison of both Samsung flagship devices. We can see more detail comparison along with the emergence of the Galaxy S6.
