Status of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and 6.0 Marshmallow for Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge
As you must have known, in the March of this year, Samsung Galaxy S6 has been launched alongside its dual-edge curved display sibling, the Galaxy S6 Edge. In term of operating system within the device, both of the two handsets initially use Android 5.0.2 Lollipop onboard. In the couple of months after the launching, Samsung and its carrier partners have been so quickly rolling out the Android 5.1 Lollipop update for the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge users.
Up to now, it is reported that the Android 5.1 Lollipop OTA (over-the-air) update has been rolled out for the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge handsets in several regions across the world.
Here, we are going to present you the status update of the Android 5.1.1 roll out for the users in the US, among other those using carrier of T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon Wireless, U.S. Celluler and AT&T.
With regard to the T-Mobile, we have to acknowledge that this is the first carrier in the U.S. to release the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update, especially for Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge users. Our observation to the update finds that the baseband version is G920TUVU2COF8 and G925TUVU1AOF8, respectively. In addition, the update also installed supported files needed for RAW photography along with lower ISO settings.
Another carrier, Sprint, has also made available the update of Android OS to their customers. The Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update in this carrier has been delivered OTA with the built numbers G920VPU20F7 and G925PVPU2B057, respectively for Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. It has been released since July this year. We find that the size of the update is around 570 MB.
With regard to Verizon Wireless, the update of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop has been released for the users of Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge in the previous month.
U.S. Cellular has also made their customer enjoy the update of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. The build versions for both the handsets are G920R4TYU2BOF7 and G925R4TYU2BOF7, respectively for Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge.
The last carrier, AT&T, is seen a little bit late in making the Android 5.1.1 update available for their customers. So far, we still cannot collect any information presenting that the update of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop has been arrived for Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge owners.
